Nigerian University Workers To Commence Strike On MONDAY-see details

The unions said the contending issues include payment of earned allowances, university staff schools matter, renegotiation of 2019 FGN/unions agreement among others.   Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) members Nigerian university workers have said that they would embark on a warning strike from Monday until their demand to the government is met. The planned one-week strike, which will last from August 19 to 23, is coming four months after the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities suspended their two-month strike. In a letter on Friday, the non-academic unions comprising the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, said, “At the expiration of the 14-day ultimatum on August 18, 2019 without a positive response from the Federal Government of Nigeria, members shall proceed on a five-day warning strike in all branches from Monday 19 to Friday 23 August 2019.” The unions said the contending issues include paym

The portal for OAU POST-UTME registration has been updated with the information below. CHANGE OF COURSE EFFECTED ON THE ADMISSION PORTAL All candidates that applied for change of course on the JAMB site can check the changes on the Admission portal and proceed to register for the Post UTME if they have not done so yet. The deadline for post utme registration has been extended. Those with held or awaiting result have the grace to upload their olevel before then. The new deadline for the POST-UTME registration is now 26th August, 2019.

The Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in Osun State has been thrown to mourning following the death of a student identified as Opeyemi Grace Dara. The deceased who was in the Department of English and Literature was said to have committed suicide after a dose of lethal substance popularly known as snipper. Although the details of the incident were still sketchy, our correspondent learnt that she took her life following the poor academic performance. But the authorities of the institution confirmed that the deceased committed suicide due to depression occasioned by poor academic records. A copy of her academic records obtained from her page on the school portal indicated that she had many outstanding courses. She was said to be having five outstanding courses and 12 Special Electives. SUMMARY ON OAU POST-UTME REGISTRATION & EXAMINATION! DATES AND INFORMATION

The closing date for registration of screening of all UTME candidates is 11th August 2019. The facility for DE candidates will be available as from Thursday 15th August, 2019. After Registration, DE Students should ensure that their transcript is forwarded by the Awarding Institution to the Admission Office, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife for DE Admission processing. UTME Candidates will also be required to participate in the Post-UTME screening on their allotted date and time between 31st August and 4th September, 2019. It should be noted that the Direct Entry (DE) candidates will not be participating in the Screening. The printing of postutme exam slip which contains the summary of the examination date and venue commences on 19th August, 2019. Candidates using awaiting result are expected to have uploaded their results before then.
