Linguistics as a course is concerned with the study of language. Though, there have been various misconceptions about the course linguistics. Even most scholars have little knowledge about what linguistics is all about. It is totally a fallacy to equate polyglots to linguists. People belief students of linguistics have the ability to speak many languages, but this is wrong. Polyglots are those concerned with the speaking of many languages, while linguistics is concerned with the scientific study of language. Take note of the word ‘study’. It’s study, not learn. Jamb announces the date to release the just concluded examination result

Prof Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB registrar The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB ) has said that the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results would be released next week. Concise News learned that spokesman for the examination body, Fabian Benjamin, made this known Sunday in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial centre. Benjamin, who disclosed in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the results ‘are all ready,’ said JAMB would reach out to candidates through their phone lines as soon as all the results of the 2019 UTME were ratified. But he did not state, based on the report by NAN, the exact day the results would be released. “The board wants to distance itself from such rumours about releasing the results of candidates of the just-concluded UTME and steps to check these results as being speculated,” the JAMB spokesman told the News Agency of Nigeria. “Candidates should disregard this information as it is not true.
