The management, Obafemi Awolowo University, ile-ife as at today, 28th June, 2019 is yet to release the departmental cutoff mark for 2019/20 admission. The cutoff is usually out after the release of the institution postutme result. The cutoff occur in percentage(%) unit. The aspirant results are summed up and converted to percentage form to determine their aggregate score. Usually, Utme- 50%, postutme -40% and olevel-10%. JAMB has raised the cutoff mark for admission-seeking candidates, but it still faces backlash for lowering standards. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has come under renewed attack after it announced the approval of the national minimum benchmark for admission into tertiary institutions for the 2019/2020 academic session. JAMB announced that students who score at least 160 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination (UTME), which has a maximum score of 400, are eligible for admission into public universities in the country. This was announced after the commission's 19th policy meeting on admissions to tertiary institutions in Nigeria on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. Report from the 2019 JAMB Policy Meeting held recently, and other related developments in 2019 Admission processes, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has released the 2019 UTME application statistics for tertiary institutions across the country. According to the information released by the board, the University of Ilorin, Kwara State had 108,912 applications, making it the University with the highest first choice applications for 2019, with Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State coming in second place with 81,397 applications. For colleges of education, the data revealed the Federal College of Education, Zaria to have the highest first choice applications, with 3,770 applications. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) held their meeting about the begining of PostUTME registeration number and Examination. The Meeting was held recently, June, 2019 as scheduled. The meeting was successful and everything were put together. Jamb narrated how this year PostUTME registeration and examination will be conducted. The management of the University of Ibadan (UI) has stated that the university's cut-off mark for 2019/2020 academic session remains 200 as against 160 agreed on by the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) and stakeholders of higher institutions as the minimum cut-off mark for the 2019/2020 Academic Session. In a statement by the office of its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, the institution said: “For the avoidance of doubts in the minds of our prospective admission seekers, their parents and guardians, our alumni and alumnae and the general public, the minimum mark for any course at the University of Ibadan, and all its Affiliated Institutions, remains 200 out of the maximum of 400. UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN APPROVED PROGRAMME CUTOFF MARK FOR 2019/20 ADMISSIONS

University of Ilorin, recently released her cutoff mark for each programme in the university. The minimum cutoff mark for getting admission into the university is 180. Candidates with less than 180 is not eligible to apply for the institution post utme, or further admission processing in the university.

OAU REGISTRAR ANNOUNCES THE INSTITUTION 2019/2020 ADMISSION CUTOFF MARK

The Office of the Registrar, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, Osun state, has announced the university's cut-off mark for the 2019/2020 admission. Recall that at the 19th policy meeting on admission that held at Bola Babalakin Auditorium, Gbongan, Osun State, 160 was approved as the minimum benchmark for admission into public institutions while 140 was set for private. The policy meeting that was presided by Jamb Registrar, Isaq Oloyede and attended by some stakeholders in education also approved a minimum of 120,110 and 100 for public polytechnics, private polytechnics and college of education respectively. However, in a conversation with the secretary to the OAU Registrar, Mrs Omosule, by our correspondent - she indicated that OAU shall continue with its traditional 200 minimum cut-off mark irrespective of JAMB's benchmark. Therefore, any aspirant with less than 200 in utme examination result is not eligible to process admission into Obafemi Awolowo University. The u
